Willemstad, CURACAO – June 22, 2010 – Stefan Dubbeling has been named Group General Manager of Kura Hulanda Resorts effective August 15th 2010 as per the recent announcement by owner Jacob Gelt Dekker.

For the past three years Dubbeling held the position of General Manager at Floris Suite Hotel in Curacao and prior to that was Director of Operations and then General Manager at the Palace Hotel in the Netherlands.  He was born and educated in the Netherlands and now lives in Curacao with his wife and three children.

Prior to this announcement, Peter Heinen held the responsibilities of Group General Manager while serving as President and Managing Director of all Kura Hulanda companies.

“Mr. Heinen has been with the organization since its inception, more than 10 years ago, and we need to alleviate some of his current responsibilities so he can focus his experience and expertise on real estate and development, which is where the focus of our continued growth now lies,” Gelt Dekker explained.  “His insight and knowledge of the business is unparalleled in this industry and we needed to bring in additional help so that he can continue to lead the Kura Hulanda Project in a forward direction.”

Shirley Geerman will remain as Resident Manager of Hotel Kura Hulanda Spa & Casino and Phillip Real will remain as General Manager of Lodge Kura Hulanda & Beach Club.  They will both report to Dubbeling who will in turn report to Heinen.

“We’re confident that adding Stefan to our team will help both at a property level as well as in our continued growth.  Shirley, Phillip and Stefan will lead our resorts in continued success as leading, luxury hotels on the island and Peter will be able to concentrate more on our partnerships and real estate development, while still lending his prowess and proficiency at the property level.”

Located in Willemstad, Curaçao, the Hotel Kura Hulanda Spa & Casino is an 80-room luxury boutique resort featuring meticulously restored 18th and 19th century Dutch Colonial Caribbean buildings spread amongst several glorious courtyards, multiple pools, award winning restaurants, a lavish spa, fitness center and more.  Nestled in the tranquil and idyllic setting of Curaçao’s west end, Lodge Kura Hulanda and Beach Club offers a luxurious ambiance coupled with a relaxing beachfront retreat and the seclusion of a unique island hideaway.   Both properties are members of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
