The 12 finalists for the Curacao Culinary 2010 Finals are known. Saturday June 19th, 2010 a total of 15 chefs and 10 bartenders competed in the heats at the Academy Hotel. The assignment was to make a main course, your own recipe for 4 people.
Both all the junior chefs and senior chefs, competed for the first time.The senior chefs were very exciting and Henny Kolenbrander International jury was surprised with the level of the dishes presented. The tension was good. Additionally recognitions were presented for the Best Hygiene Award, Most Creative Dish, Most Creative Cocktail Rum, Most Creative Vodka Cocktail and 'Most talented Junior Chef and Bartender.
The finalists of the Junior Chefs are: Gryson Bartholomeus (Blue Bay Resort), Adriyel Lourens (Avila Hotel), Werner Jansen (Porter House, Trupial Inn) and Giuseppe Ignecia (Blue Bay Resort). Senior chef’s finalists are: Franklin (Alex) Martha (Avila Hotel), Syrenna Alvares (Renaissance Hotel), Edbert Birginia (Hemingway Restaurant) and Carlos Anthony (Restaurant Nemo).
The four bartenders who will continue to compete at the finals are: Anthony Santos (Breezes Hotel), Elfred Mercelina (Breezes Hotel), Robertico Monte (Plaza Hotel) and Nathalia Dickens (Renaissance Hotel).
Friday June 18th, 2010 3 pastry chefs participated in the first Pastry Chef competition. These three will receive their title on Saturday, June 26th, 2010.
The final competition of the Curacao Culinary 2010 will be held on Saturday June 26th, 2010 at the Academy Hotel Curaçao. The public is welcome from 09.00AM-17.00PM , admission is free. The chefs and bartenders have the task to prepare everything from a "mystery basket" a starter and main course or cocktail. Around 17.00PM it will be announced who will represent Curaçao in Taste of the Caribbean in September 2010.
