Our airport competed in the Central America/ Caribbean region and got this year again highly commended after, Queen Beatrix International Airport of Aruba, which came out as the winner in the category this year. As the overall winner in the Americas, and the airport that will compete for the World Routes Award, came out Edmonton International Airport.
“We are very delighted with this distinction. It indicates that we, together with our partners like f.e. CAH, CTB, CHATA, Curoil and the government are well on our way to market our airport. We will continue doing our utmost to develop and market our airport. Curacao should become the hub of choice to connect the Caribbean, countries in Americas and the Americas with Europe. “ Albert Brunner CEO of CAP said.
Voting for the Routes Americas Airport Marketing Awards started in mid January and was open for two weeks. During this period airlines nominated their preferred airports on Routesonline using criteria such as the airport’s market research activities and marketing communications activities. The shortlisted airports then had to submit a case study to support their nominations to the judging panel.
The Airport Marketing Awards were established in 1997 to honour the very best in airport marketing. It is the only industry awards scheme rewarding excellence in airport marketing to airlines.
