YTD December 2009 occupancy averaged 69.51% compared to 82.57% to December YTD 2008. Over 2009 as a whole YTD itself saw a decrease: 74.80% for 2009 compared to an 84.99% in 2008.
Take into account that more rooms have been added in 2009 which brings a higher distribution range for the arrivals that Curacao has gotten over 2009 towards not only CHATA accommodations, but also other accommodations ( such as apartments, guesthouses and family). In preliminary figures ( OCT YTD 2009) of CTB there is a decrease in room nights which means that visitors staying in accommodations also are staying less nights. Which results less revenue for the accommodation providers.
This CHATA Accommodation monthly occupancy average is made possible with cooperation of members: Avila, Breezes,Chogogo, Floris, Hilton, Howard Johnson, Kura Hulanda, Lions Dive, Lodge Kura Hulanda, Livingstone, Marriott, Otrobanda Hotel, Papagayo and Trupial Inn.
