  CTB and CHATA categorically denounce actions against horeca establishments.

The Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) and the Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association (CHATA) express their gravest concern as to the actions against local restaurants that have taken place yesterday. As a follow up of the political demonstrations in downtown Willemstad, a very small group of troublemakers continued to provoke and molest visitors at horeca establishments in the Pietermaai Quarter.

  Vacancy Academy Hotel: Assistant Manager, Restaurant Supervisor/ Instr. and Kitchen Supervisor/ Instr.

Academy Hotel Curacao will operate with students of local hospitality schools, providing on the job training in a 24/7 and 365 days per year setting. The hotel has 40 rooms, an indoor and outdoor restaurant with a bar and an instruction kitchen. Per month an average of 70-80 students will be trained in several functions to run the hotel. Academy Hotel Curacao will opens its doors in October 2008 and the openings team starts in August 2008.
The Hotel Manager will head a professional staff consisting of a Restaurant Supervisor, Kitchen Supervisor and an Assistant Manager.

  CHATA organizes Airlift Seminar: Caribbean Airlift update

On June 6th, 2008 CHATA hosted the Caribbean Airlift update presentation by IATA Asst. Director airport & ATC charges North and South America Mr. Cyril Kronenburg initiated by the airlift committee consisting of CAH, CAP, CHATA and CTB. The main subject in the seminar was the position of the Caribbean and Curacao in particular as well as upcoming (more airline-friendly) markets which Curacao should take into account when developing joint long-term strategies.
